For me, the Nintendo Switch has been a game-changer. Its ability to function as a portable handheld device means I can easily slip it into my bag and keep myself entertained on my daily commute. But when it's time for a game night with friends, I can connect it to a larger screen using the dock and play together. The only downside is that the Switch isn't powerful enough to play the latest 3A games, which can be frustrating when I see others playing Hogwarts Legacy on different platforms.
But the Steam Deck from Valve has changed everything. I can now play the latest 3A games on my daily commute without paying extra, thanks to the ability to access and share my Steam game library, including saved game progress from my PC. However, this has brought up a new problem. Unlike the Nintendo Switch, the official Steam Deck does not come with a dock included, which means I am unable to play games on my TV with friends like I used to.
Fortunately, I discovered WARRKY Steam Deck Dock. It is a compact device made of aluminum with three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port supporting 4K at 60Hz, and a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast-wired internet. The dock also includes a 100W power delivery port for charging your Steam Deck and other USB-C devices and a foldable nylon cable for easy storage and portability. The non-blocking vent design helps to dissipate heat, ensuring your devices stay cool during extended use.
One of the biggest advantages of using the WARRKY Steam Deck Dock is the convenience of having all your peripherals connected to one device. You can connect a mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, and even a monitor to your Steam Deck, allowing you to use it as a full-fledged desktop replacement. The dock also frees up the USB-C port on your Steam Deck for other devices, such as a headset or a game controller.
Compare with the official Valve Steam Deck Dock:
- The design looks even better metallic to me.
- The redundant DP connector has been removed, the charger I don't need (for the sake of the environment) has been removed and the price is less than half of the official dock, so who wants to pay for a connector and charger they don't need?
- The unique fold-in design for storing cables and cutout design for non-blocking air take-in.
The last point that really sold me on the WARRKY Steam Deck Dock was its ability to store the USB-C connector when not connected to TV, after all, these days everyone believes that the fewer cables the tidier it is. When it's time to connect the TV, you can gently pull out the USB-C (they've made it curved for better access) and connect it to the Steam Deck, then you can pick up the controller and play retro emulator games with friends or a game of 2K23.
I've already completed Red Dead Redemption 2 and spent countless hours playing Hades and 2K23 on my Steam Deck. The portability and performance of the device exceed my expectations, and the WARRKY Steam Deck Dock fills the only gap in the device. It makes it easy to connect to my TV, provides stable internet connectivity, and allows me to connect my keyboard and mouse with ease. If you already have a Steam Deck, I believe the WARRKY Steam Deck Dock is the best choice regarding value, performance, design, and cable management.
